Google SERP Preview Tool

Enter the title, the display URL, and the description you are drafting. The preview follows a desktop Google-style layout so you can judge length before you publish. It is an estimate, not an official screenshot.

Draft fields

Title clip: about 600 pixels in Arial 20. Description: 100–155 characters as a writing target, with a width estimate near 920 pixels. Counts use Unicode code points. Emoji and some symbols can still differ from what you see.

When to use this preview

Use it when you have a draft title and you want to see whether the line still reads after a width cut. Enter the URL you expect people to see, including folders, because a long path changes the look of the block. If the description trails off mid-clause, shorten the sentence rather than stacking fragments. The preview will not tell you whether the page will rank; it only shows how this text may appear.

Questions

Does the preview fetch my live page?

No. You enter the text. The tool does not request another domain or rewrite the fields from a crawl.

Why can a 55-character title still look cut?

The desktop preview clips near 600 pixels. Wide letters, numbers, and capitals fill that width faster than a line of lowercase i and l.

What does the narrower checkbox change?

It uses a tighter clip so you can judge the same draft at a smaller width. It is still an estimate, not a phone screenshot from Google.
